The rest of the travel journal has been completed. Click on 'Month 7' above to read it.

The Wild Rain journal will continue shortly but it will not be daily like the travel journal. When I get a chance I'll update this site, maybe even relocate it and produce some comics too. But first, I'm taking it easy, not using the computer too much or watching TV.

Why? Matt bet me that as soon as I returned from my travels I'd fall back into my old habits. I have no intention of doing this. I've discovered that there is a whole world out there, one that has gotten smaller for me since my journey. I fully intend to continue travelling but in the meantime, TV, video, SKY and computers are no longer my main addiction (reading is).

If you need to get in touch with me then feel free to drop me an email and I'll answer it as soon as I can. My friends can reach me faster by calling my parents number.

As for my plans for the near future, I'm taking it easy. I'll be looking for work soon but the market does not look good. If there is no work over here I could always go back to New Zealand. Yes, that was my favourite place on my travels. I'd go back in a heartbeat. I've since received an email from Slim. He wants to know when I'm coming back. The Holden is sitting there waiting for my return, the computer needs fixing and there's some cows that need milking. ;o)

Not much has happened since I returned home. And its been great! I'm taking it easy trying not to settle back into my old ways which is hard as my folks have 14 videos with 84 hours of Sci-Fi series taped on them from when I was away. So tempting to veg out.

Its been nice and sunny so the other day I took off my socks and shoes and played with the dog on the lawn. I slipped and I heard a crack followed by some considerable pain. I broke a toe. Its now taped up to another one. I go around the world and suffer a cold and some toothache and a few days after I'm back, I break something. Sigh.

I bought a new car battery. I've decided to put the Supra back on the road. A guy needs wheels.

I still have six rolls of camera film to develop. Twelve are already developed. When I get an hour or so free where I feel like sitting in front of the scanner I'll create an on-line photo album of my journey.

Spent the weekend in Worcester and Malvern. During the car journey there and back I managed to read the third Harry Potter book. On our return my sister hands me book four. I swear each book increases in size. Book 5 is out on July 31st. Harry's birthday apparently.

I watched a couple of the Enterprise and Dark Angel episodes my folks taped for me while I was away. However thats all I've watched as I've still managed to avoid watching TV. Watching Holly Vallance sing 'Kiss Kiss' on THE BOX doesn't count. Anyway, I'm not impressed with Enterprise. The vulcan sub-commander reminds me a bit of Angelina Jolie and episode 1 was kinda ok but only because she looked really cold in that tight outfit. I'm guessing the producers were trying to make up for the loss of 7 of 9. But the overall feel of the show is.. well kinda not to my liking. The theme tune is cool though, but not really Star Trekky is it? As for Dark Angel.. sigh. I had high hopes but now its gone all Mutant X.

So anyway I've managed to avoid TV and computer games so far. I played maybe 2 minutes of Max Payne upon my return but I was so bored that it made my resolve to stay away from computer games that much easier. My sister has other ideas however. When I was last home I played Tomb Raider on her kids Playstation with all the kids watching. Cat and Alesa want me to play Tomb Raider 2 next so they can leave the kids with me, gaping at the screen while they get on with other things. The flaw in this little plan of theirs is that their Playstations, type PS1, are not chipped and therefore require originals. Being the helpful guy that I am I checked on-line but the early games are out of stock. Besides, I'd prefer the special editions as although I have completed all 5 Tomb Raider games, I have never played the bonus 'gold' packs suck as 'Unfinished Business'. Meanwhile the kids keep nagging them "When is Uncle David going to play Tomb Raider 2?".
